Are You Branding Yourself or Are You Just Another Joe

No matter what your niche or service you want to provide on the internet, you need to brand yourself. After all they don’t buy from a niche or a slogan they buy from you. You are the expert they look up to.

Don’t brand yourself with some cutesy name, be yourself. That is the easiest person to be. If I see one more internet guru god who just keeps sending me affiliate links, I think I’m going to toss my cookies. They’re not a guru of anything they just follow everyone trying to make a buck off me.

If you really want to stand out in your niche, be yourself and not something your not. If you can’t put every page in first position on google then don’t brand yourself that way. The expertise that you do have is bound to have a group who would be more than happy to follow and learn from you. They’ll say who and what you are.

So let’s get to branding. You do have yourname.com right. You don’t, well then you need to stop right now and go register that baby before someone else does. I’ll wait.

Need A Domain Name. Enter a Domain Name Here:
www.

Now whereever you go be yourself and let everyone know who you are. Sign up at forums using your name. Every time you build a website brand it using your name. (i.e. Martin Blakley’s Webmaster Newbies Toolkit and Resources). The more you brand your name and use it the more it will appear on Google and other search engines and the easier you’ll be to find.

Twitter using your own name. Be you on Facebook and the same with the other Social Media sites. The more you are just yourself the more people will get to know you and follow you. The more people follow you the greater your influence. While you are branding yourself, keep yourself in good company. Know the leaders in your niche follow them or make friends with them. Influence rubs off especially if you offer your own wisdom to others.
